Too many local Kooks

The pier can be a great place to surf, just be aware there are numerous locals surfing the pier area that think the waves are only for them. If your alone you could have a tough time.

Don't leave any valuables in your car unless they are in the trunk as Huntington is also a hot bed of thiefs. They'll steal almost anything you have. And the cops there patrol the beaches just looking for anyone they can bust to make a buck... so don't even think about beers or 420 on the beach.

Over thirty years or so I've had plenty of good waves there and a few bad experiences,... so be mindful... the cliffs or GoldenWest St. are better spots if your layed back. and probably the sand bar in front of the edison electric plants south of the peir can be pretty good.
