The Best Surf Buddy Can Be Held In Your Arms

by Jeff Stewart
(Montauk, NY, US)

I'm Jeff and I have lived in Montauk, NY for the past 10 years. I simply love to surf, and Montauk represents all that is surfing and rock and roll. But all this cannot entertain me forever so I decided to complicate my life a bit with a dog.

Of course, I want to share everything with the ones I care for, and that is why I started teaching Noodles how to surf.

He simply loves water and that was a big bonus. Noodles is a Jack Russell terrier. This type of dog is full of energy and has quite a big attitude for its size but we get along.

First time I went surfing with him he would follow me into the water and I would pick him up. I would ride the wave with my dog in one of my hands. All this seemed hilarious to me. Concentrating on the task at hand was pretty hard.

Slowly but surely, he got accommodated to the whole situation, and soon enough I had to buy him a board of his own. We have been surf buddies for 4 years now and everything is going excellent.

Every time we go to the beach he gets excited and start jumping all over the place. This dog behaves like his master a little too much.
