Surfing Long Beach

I am looking for information or photos of women surfing Long Beach in the 1930's. My grandmother grew up in Long Beach and I hear that she was at the beach surfing every chance she got. What I wouldn't give for a photo of her with her bikini and surfboard! None exist, that I know of, because her mother didn't approve of her hobby. If anyone has any recommendations of where to look it would be much appreciated!
