Surf Stronger DVD

by Jay
(CA)

Quite disappointed. I was looking for a challenge that would keep me in peak performance shape for the occasional big day. I've been athletic as far as I could remember so after trying out the workout (Yes I tried it) I didn't feel the exhaustion, that "burn" telling me it works. Yes I tried increasing weights and reps, but still something is missing like pull ups, increased heart rate; something to help me survive the big ones when I only can surf weekends (the reality of life and a full-time job).

Please tell me if "Total Surfing Fitness" has that edge.

Thanks for the very informative website, its great!

Tried it, loved it, use it regularly
by: Dan D.

I got the Surf Stronger Volume 1 DVD last Christmas as a gift from my girlfriend. Hands down doing this workout is the best thing that's happened to my surfing in a long time.

I surf Ocean Beach (SF) regularly, but there are long blown-out spells. I'd swum and played water polo when I was younger, but at 35, needed a true, surf-specific workout. This is it. I do the workout 2-3 times per week and it still burns. Try doing 20 jump squats in a row. Or 20 ball push-ups, or 10-15 roll-ins with a push up! You will feel the burn!! And it's the same kind of burn you feel during a tough surf sesh because the exercises use all the same muscle groups as surfing. My upper body strength had always been pretty good, but this video is total body, and the leg strength and core strength improvement is what has helped me the most. I really feel stronger on my bottom turns and cutbacks. I do do some yoga, occasionally, but more for flexibility and to help with relaxation. Anyhow, check it out if you need a surf-specific routine to do between sessions.
