South of Pacifica 24 Sept 06
4-5ft fast drop, turn, weak shoulder, repeat. Sunny, no wind, blue water. Overall it was fun, first "Indian Summer" day for me. I love this time of year.

Oceanside, CA 16-23 Sept 06
Nice vacation in Oceanside, sunny waves anywhere from 3-7ft with some bigger sets out there that I saw but didn't ride. A north current seem to run the whole time but I can't complain, nice spot for a surfer to go for family vacation. I'll put some video up in next few days. Nice week long entry for the surf blog.

Ocean Beach, SF 12 Sept 06
South end OB was frustrating. Surf was 4-6ft and pretty consistent. Paddled out at wrong spot and went back to the beach to try again. Second paddle out was not that bad but the waves were tough to catch. They sort of backed off and then closed out more on the inside. Saw some OK rides here and there but I was pressed for time and got one wave...fun for a few seconds and then it closed out on me. Foggy out...but looked like it was burning off.

Surfed OB for about 2 hours around Noriega. 3-4ft, sometimes 5ft. Easy paddle out, overcast conditions continue. Not bad considering I didn't get out much lately. A little shifty, had to paddle around a bit to get in position.

South of Pacifica 26 Aug 06
Drove quite a bit before settling on not so crowded fairly closed out shorebreak. Nothing special, mostly overcast. Felt good just to get in the water and get a few rides. Allergies are kicking my butt and the ocean cleanses them from sinuses.

South of Pacifica 13 Aug 06
Not too bad, fun entry for the surf blog. Offshorish wind and 3-5ft waves. Most rides about 2-4ft. Overcast out and fairly crowded since everybody was trying to escape Linda Mar. Despite crowds the waves were pretty spread around and it was fun.

Driving around on 9 Aug 06Drove around...should have just gone straight to Ocean Beach but instead looked for waves south of Pacfica. Nice weather but nothing worthwhile.

Half Moon Bay Jetty 7 Aug 06
Surfed another day at the Jetty. 2-3ft waves but waves coming in from SW swell at 200 deg. Those are 4-6ft and solid...at main peak and too the south. A lot of those peaks would swing wide instead of all next to the Jetty, mainly in two main spots. Bit of a wait for them but they come in sets of 7 or so. Sun came out. Waves were around at a couple of nearby spots as there was no wind.

One more for the surf blog. At last! The slide is open. Nice day at the Jetty 2-4ft waves, occasional 5ft. Took the Quad Fish, had some fun for about an hour and a half after the wife dropped me off. Then she took the kids to the park nearby. Makes the whole thing very convenient. Saw waves in other places nearby....almost no wind. When is the Anchorage restuarant going to re-open? I loved that place...right next to the Jetty and good food.

Once again..OB. Nice weather continues. Sunny 2-4ft waves under cloudy skies at first, but turned very sunny. Another twinzer fish day with light crowds. Surf Kayak sighting.

Got some fun 3-4ft waves under mostly sunny skies. Not as big as the other day but less crowded and got more waves. Good day for the twinzer fish. Stand up paddle sighting...curious.

Wow, it's been a few weeks for the surf blog. Colds, commitments, and crummy surf kept me out so it was good to get in the water today. Sunny 3-5ft foot waves at Ocean Beach. Breaking hard on the inside, got a few fun rides, so some real good surfers out there on it. It was nice to see that sun! The good OB surf was a bonus.

Paddled out under an overcast sky to an empty peak. Clean conditions but fast drops let to weakish rides. A little bit of a wait between waves. Overall I would say it was OK. As I left the beach I saw a peak just south of where I was at...much better but much more crowded. Not sure if was worth the crowd but it looked bigger, better, and more consistent.

Another one for the surf blog. For those of you just getting off work, south end is 3-5ft and fairly blown out but there are some rideable waves. Still sunny out but fog to the south. Lots of people on the beach and in the parking lots. A few guys out. Best rides were the occassional outside wave. I had an annoying paddle out after one ride when the sets got consistent but a few okay rides all together.

Surf up to 6ft, consistent waves, but lots of closeouts. Got a couple of rides but nothing special. Sunny out and the occasional okay wave could be seen.

3-6ft. Raw lumpy surf. Good rides occasionally on the outside bars but lots of work to get in position. Nice sunny day. Pacifica much smaller and much more crowded, tide not high enough yet. IF winds stay down (unlikely) both spots could get much better.

South of Pacifica 12 June 06
Got some waves south of Pacifica. Lots of closeouts but a few rideable shoulders, mushing out pretty quick. Definitely better than many other spots. Not good waves, but OK.

Pacifica 10 June 06
Went out later...about 7:00PM. Not great but some okay mushy rides and only one other guy out at the north end. Overcast and gloomy but felt good to get in the water and beats going to the gym for exercise.

Bad surf. Was sick for a couple of days...wanted to get some waves but it was really gloomy and bad. PASS! Probably shouldn't even be a surf blog entry.
