Sponger

How come as soon as I get on a sponge nobody talks to me in the water unless they are yelling something like "no bodyboarders". I longboard when its glassy and bodyboard when its huge. My bodyboard is full of fin slices from being purposely ran over and somehow other surfers think its ok to snake a wave and ignore the rules if a sponger is involved. It is at Linda Mar that I get most of the negative vibe. I love Santa Cruz in general because everyone seems to be more chill there. I find respite in the cold winter weather when all the punk surfers go back to junior college and I can enjoy a winter storm without without their negative vibe. Everyone gets their stoke in their own way. Let me surf what I want to.
