Bud Browne deserves this recognition. I watched his movies from 1953. As a result I promoted his films for a couple of years. We set attendance records at the then new Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1959 with his "Spinning Boards" which was the first surf movie with recorded naration and music. It featured filmed interviews with top surfers. He started it all and kept raising the bar for this unique sporting niche.
