The Shark Safe project is a new grass roots shark conservation group. As surfers we are sure that you are very aware that sharks are extremely important to our ocean environment. Yet shark populations are threatened globally. We are also sure that you are aware that the main source of this threat is over fishing for shark fins used in shark fin soup. We are not here to preach to the choir! We are not asking you to sign another petition!

We are asking you to join us and take real action to help save sharks!

We are organizing a shark finning protest demonstration in San Francisco's Chinatown on Sunday January 25th 2009.

There are over 100 restaurants in San Francisco's Chinatown that offer shark fin soup on their menus. We are only asking them to remove one item from their menus.That simple act can save thousands of sharks.

There are other groups taking up the cause all over the country. Please, as concerned surfers join us and help us save sharks today.

Lawrence Groth STOLE Sharks Safe from COARE. That's a fact and everyone knows it. He needed some kind of shark conservation shield after this video aired all over the world.

Yes, that's Mr Shark Safe and his company Great White Adventures aka Shark Diving International mangling a shark in his cages and almost killing two of his divers. This was not the first time a shark had ripped into his cages either.

The sad part is for the past decade Lawrence has done nothing to help sharks, it took this event for him to get active and what did he do?

He ripped an entire concept off from COARE and called it his own and then pretended to care about sharks. He also had help from Mary O'Malley.

Lawrence how about NOT getting shark stuck in cages first and then you can save some sharks?

Shameful and disgusting.

COARE has done nothing and only started crying about Shark Safe after we got very active and hit the ground running. We have the trademark and the support of the conservation community. You have a domain name not a right to dictate who is who.

You may want to take down the Shark Safe efforts guys.

This was first and foremost a C.O.A.R.E project that has been taken without permission and re-branded in Florida.
