It was Pelican Point long before you kids came along and "claimed it" as your own. The mags posted pics of it and called it Pelican as to not draw attention to its locale. Know your history and respect those who came before.......sooner than you think it will be you talking about "back in the day"

Your Beach ? by: Jake
So the big talk can't leave his name..must live in Kansas and read Surfer. Some of us surfed this before nibs like this guy were born........this beach is good for anyone who can get on it! If you can't use it and take care of it then stay away. And if you see this guy who has "surfed" it for years..........

Pelican Point by: Muguvian
Hey, Anonymus/Whatever. Pelican Point? you don't sound like you're from Mugu. it's simply surfers beach, cuz that's where we grew up & surfed. Giving townies a taste once a year is good comrel. If they don't get that the military deserve a spot where they are actually local no matter transfers etc. that is & will remain their problem, why make it yours? peace

Lack of respect. Lack of knowledge. Lack of any sense of the history of 'Pelican Point'. A sacrilege.
I find it hard to believe that the military would allow this circus. Hopefully it will come back to bite them in the proverbial ass.
Pack of tools.

judges by: A. Ortiz
Gentelemen,
My hope is that your judging staff looks very closely at the longboard division. I ve experienced one contestants desire ( T. Swift ) to surf rather than work and I hope he and I are in the same heat so I can show him my surfing prowess. If I see him at this contest on a Sunday I will report him to his employer and I hope he loses his job.

Anonymous tough guys? by: Mike Burau
Just thought it was interesting how a man can post jibberish about "southers" or "kooks" without disclosing their name.
Whats the point?

what a joke by: Anonymous
Opening a wave that a lot of us have spent years sneaking into, just to let some southers say they rode it in competition, is a joke. Now every kook from Newbury Park is going to think they can have a wave there any time. WRONG. screw the Navy, the southers kooks, and the people who haven't put years into riding the place. Here comes the circus.
$100 for civilians? What a scam.
