Ocean Beach, SF 29 Jan 09 - Pic

My first stop was Linda Mar...nothing but closeouts. Went to Ocean Beach only to witness closeouts and mush. Later went back to LM to see, yup, more closeouts. However it did improve slightly since my first visit so I paddled out. Sunny skies, offshore wind, and a few fun fast rides. I thought I would nail a bunch of rides light Tuesday, because I got a wave immediately after paddling out. But no, tons of more closeouts. The pic above is deceptive.

Still enough rides to make it worthwhile and fun. Water was a bit cold. That or my wetsuit is starting to break down. Based on the self hugging I saw with other surfers I think it was just plain cold. Fortunately I was wearing my Xcel Booties and hood so I wasn't too bad off.
