bodyboards are way different because you catch way more waves the you would on a surfboard, because you can use your legs to throw you into the wave unlike surfing wich is a lot harder, but you can stand up on a bodyboard (waimea river surfing you tube) and you only get called a sponge if you cant do any thing because sponges just sit there and float sorry
