In my minds eye I had pictured something quite different. I figured that with offshore wind in the forecast and smallish surf I couldn't go wrong with some exposed beachbreak. I went south of Half Moon Bay to escape the crowds....wrong move. I ended up driving out of the sun and into the fog. The surf was wonderfully empty but in addition to the fog it sucked. Mushy outside peaks that reformed only to closeout on the inside. Didn't take long for the current to pull me a bit south and I packed it in after 2 waves. I decided that my time was better served playing with my kids in the sand.
